Hello all,
We have a need to tak a single serial feed and have the content show up
on tty devices on multiple different machines. When exploring this, Dec
(or their reseller, actually) told us that the DECserver90M supported
this functionality. Now that we have managed to get it configured and
started testing, we find that it will serve the data coming in on the
serial port to the first machine to connect to it. We are connecting to
the terminal server via LAT and while two machines can attach to the
port, only one receives the data.
Is this a configuration problem or is this a fundamental limitation of
the DECserver90? I understand that the device supports a broadcast mode
that might accomodate this type of application. Is this realistic?
TIA,
J
