Hello again

Given this lists proud reputation of solving anything solvable in the
first 10 minutes of posting, I figure that two lonely answers in 24
hours, one asking for the solution if found the other saying he avoided
these problems by running SLIP, means that the xon/xoff is either an
unknown problem or a problem with an unknown solution. If anybody has
any further light to shed on this, it would be most gratefully received.

    The Original Posting:

I have seen two questions on xon/xoff in the archives in the last 4
years and no answers. I promise to summarize.

"stty -f /dev/tty00 -ixon" should turn off xon, but
"stty -a -f /dev/tty01" tells me it is still on.

I am trying to modem connect via ppp on my linux box to my alphastation
(200 4/233 DU3.2d) running slirp. The linux ppp works fine to other
hosts, but not to the alpha. I suspect the xon switch which I cannot
figure out how to change. The modem seems to be operating properly - I
can log in for a normal telnet session without difficulty. I have root
access on both machines.

All suggestions most welcome.

Dave
