Hello Managers,
I have recently setup a 28.8k modem on an
alphastation running DU 4.0B. When I call in with a PC, the modem
answers fine, and Windows 95 reports that it connects at 28.8k. I start
up PPP manually with the following command:
/usr/sbin/pppd proxyarp :remote_ip_here 28800
and it connects, but all transfers are made at 9600 baud. If I change
the 28800 above by a 38400 or a 19200, the binary string that pppd
returns is much different than the one at 28800, and Win95 doesn't
recognize this binary string (although that is setup to connect to
speeds of up to 38400).
My inittab is set up to put a getty on /dev/tty00 using the M38400 entry
on /etc/gettydefs, so I really don't know what could be going wrong.
Has anybody experienced this problem, or have any ideas on how to solve
it?
Thanks,
Mariano
