SUMMARY: how do I unshare my cdrom?

For pointing me to lsof, which I grabbed from the freeware CD.
This showed that root had a cwd in the mount tree.
After some head scratching I now realise why...
Navigating the cdrom in sh was proving to be a frustration
so I opened a tcsh in the directory tree to make use of filec.

There are none so blind as them who cannot see.
