Morning,

After reading the patch news, I went and fetch the new patch for Dec UNix
v4.0b. I ran the "test" mode while being multi-users. And it came up with
a lot of errors ( mostly "cannot identify" ) for a good ammount of
patches. The only 3rd party software installed on our Dec Alpha 1000 is
sendmail 8.8.7 with tcp wrappers. We have recently done a clean insatll (
July of this year ) and fverify states all is well ( with the exception
of mail and some minor cgi scripts for the web interface ).

I noticed that I was not the only one with problems installing the patch.
We do not have any other patches on our box. My question is this:

Does BAS0005 needed any previous patches before being installed??? If so
why are they no longer on the site ??? If not then why am I having
trobles with this ??

Thanks in advanced

ps. on a lil lighter note, after upgrading the setld and dupatch
utilitites, then the teste, fverify stated that dupatch and setld had bad
chek sums.
