netstat don't do DNS lookup except for root

Hello

My Hardware : Alphastation 250/266 DU 3.2g 128 Mo RAM 5 Go disk

Since i upgrade from 3.2d-2 to 3.2g i see some bizarre things:

* netstat don't give same answer when running by root or by a user
* the name of the station isn't the FQDN (www.web-data.fr) but only www
* the network seems slower
* No PPP support with doconfig

Do i miss something ? Why ?

nslookup works and all the IP stuff too.
The upgrade didn't install properly the PPP package. On my
other Alpha i have to delete all kernel subsets and config related
files,
then re-install them to get it in the doconfig option menu.

Someone told me that he did a full install to get it works fine.
Is it true ?

Short example of netstat at the same time:

* root
tcp 0 0 www.ftp hotcisi.cisi.fr.33479
ESTABLISHED

* user
tcp 0 0 www.ftp 194.167.231.2.33479
ESTABLISHED

Thanks a lot

Pierre
