Starting DU 4.0a if fstab is bad?

How can I get access to the system if my fstab file is bad, or I have a
potentially corrupt AdvFS fileset?

The Problem: I was having intermittent failures from my Seagate drive on
SCSI id 2. I moved all AdvFS partitions off of that drive. I wanted to
consoladate the swap swap onto another drive. After researching this
problem, I see that I missed some items when changing the swap partition.
What I had done is that I had logged in on the console. My swap partition
was not setup properly, so CDE didn't start. Anyway, I ended up rewriting
my /etc/fstab file with just the 'cat' command, "cat > filename". I
thought I was careful with all of the necessary items, but apparently I
either mistyped, or my one fileset went bad on me. Well, now it starts up
and goes to a certain point and then fails. It won't go past the point
where is has tried to mount all the AdvFS sets. I have a DEC 3000 M300
machine, running DU 4.0a with no patches installed. Below is a copy of the
screen output I get.

What I see on bootup:
< -- Start of Text -- >
DEC 3000 - M300 system

It would be nice to be able to get to the system and change my /etc/fstab
file. Can I boot off of a CD and mount my AdvFS root partition? Any ideas
and help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bill
