Well, I guess it was 1 am in the morning, and it would have helped to use
my brain. I figured out how to do what I needed. I got some thoughts
going when I read another message on the list. Here is how I fixed my problem

1. I halted the DEC Station with the halt button on the back.
2. I then set the AUTO_ACTION variable to HALT. Just in case I needed to
restart it again.
3. I then used the Generic unix kernel and booted into single user mode by
doing:
        boot -fl s -fi genvmunix
4. This took me into single-user mode where I was able to mount the file
systems with:
        mount -a
5. I was then able to fix my /etc/fstab file
6. I reset the AUTO_ACTION variable to RESTART.
7. Restarted the machine and it came up again.

Sorry to waste everyone's bandwidth on a brain cramp. Thanks anyway!

Bill
