Dear Gurus,

> I got a strange problem with my NIS. If box A is setup as NIS slave
> server, it isn't able to get master servers auto.master map. If box A
> is setup as client everything is working.
> Can't get master of auto.master. Reason: no such map in server's domain.
> Can't get master of auto.home. Reason: no such map in server's domain.
> Can't get master of auto.direct. Reason: no such map in server's domain.

Thanks to

Spider Boardman <spider_at_Orb.Nashua.NH.US>
Paul A Sand <pas_at_unh.edu>
Rainer Freis <freis_at_santix.de>

Following Spider's advice, I copied the maps with

        ./ypxfr -f -h `ypwhich -m group.byname` auto.master
        ./ypxfr -f -h `ypwhich -m group.byname` auto.home
        ./ypxfr -f -h `ypwhich -m group.byname` auto.direct

After this, the slave server knows about the auto.* maps and copies
these maps with usual ypxfer options.

Gerhard
