Installing DEC TZ88 20/40GB DLT drive

Since the installation instuctions are all but non-existent...I was
wondering if anyone could let me know (or point me in the direction) of
some installation instructions for the DEC TZ88 DLT tape drive into our DEC
Alpha 1000. We are running DEC OSF 3.2.

We currently have a DEC 1000 with 2 2.1GB and 1 9.1GB hard disk. They are
in the top 3 chassis slots.

Since this machine is the our main web Server, it's downtime must be
minimized.

Q. can the tape back up be installed hot-plug ?
Q. what SCSI ID should I use (can I find this out without booting into >>>)

What I would prefer is (like I have with our Sun machine) set the SCSI ID
on the tape drive, install it into the 4th and 5th clots in the chassis,
boot -r the machine, and have the machine recognize the devive and we are
done.

Is this possible ?

Gratefully appreciated.....
