rewriting mail headers with sendmail

Hopefully, a quick question. We're running a firewall/encryption system
which rewrites the headers on incoming mail messages such that all messages
appear to be from the encryption machine, not the original sender. (A
scant few messages escape through unscathed, but i have no idea why this
is.) Needless to say, when our users hit 'reply' without checking the To:
line first, the messages go to the encryption box, not the intended
recipient. We can't modify the encryption software to prevent this, so I
think I need to massage sendmail some, to get the results we need.

What I want to do is this: When the message hits the firewall, I want
sendmail to insert a new header, and copy the contents of the From: header
to it. Next, once the message passes through the encryption machine, I
want sendmail on that box to rewrite the From: header of the message with
the contents of the header I created on the firewall.

Cheers!
Jon
