Regards,
We have the following problem:
"ypwhich -m" returns with the following 'funny' message:
ypwhich(v2dumpmaps): can't get maplist: Can't decode result
This error shows up on IRIX (5.3,6.2,6.3,6.4), Dec Unix (3.2c,4.0[BC]),
SunOS 4.1.x and AIX 3.2.5. AIX 4.x and Solaris 2.5.x seems to be OK.
We saw similar errors on a Solaris 2.5.1 box, but a 'ulimit -n 256' did
the trick (ie increased the number of filedescriptors). We suspect that
the error is caused by a large number of maps or fewer maps having long
names. It is possible that the total number of bytes transferred from
the server to the client issuing the ypwhich call will exceed some limit
or that the client is not capable of reassembling a maplist that arrives
in more than one packet.
Can anyone enlighten me here, please ?
