I'm running DU 4.0. I have a problem with sendmail, 5.whatever-DEC-gave-me
and I don't know how to fix it. There is apparently something in the
dot-cf or dot-m4 file which causes sendmail to resolve the sender's
domain before passing along a message. We have recently sold a large
part of our company, so all of those people have forwarding aliases.
Mail coming in from junk mail sites is sitting in our mail queue
with the message:
(Deferred: <90445122_at_16687.com>... Sender domain must resolve)
Which is fine. The trouble is, mail from our local host is also
noted in the same way. For some reason sendmail cannot resolve
the local domain and we can't mail to those aliases from here.
I can use nslookup and find the MX record for my domain (encore.com)
which is what I *thought* would be checked.
I have the new sendmail book, but it covers 8.x...
Anyway, if some kind soul out there can point me in the right direction
I would appreciate it... I'm just starting out administering mail and
networks and it's all new to me right now.
Thanks.
