Hi DU Admins

I was asking about experience with and disk labels for any
of these disks:

   IBM Ultrastar 4.3GB (DCAS 34330UW)
   Quantum Fireball ST 4.3GB (HD-QT43-SC)
   Quantum Fireball ST 6.4GB
   Seagate Barracuda 4LP 4.55GB (ST34573W)
   Seagate Barracuda 9LP 9.19GB (ST39173W)

Thanks to Kimble Webb, Jim Belonis, Alan Rollow, Volker Hejny
and rich frank for their replies.

Everyone told me essentially the same thing about disklabel.
In Alan's words:

If the disks are well behaved, disklabel(8) can get the
information it needs from the disk.

I was aware of this feature but it's the "if the disks are well
behaved" part I was worried about.

I had positive reports about both Seagates and one about the
IBM although that was for a 9.1GB drive. Nothing about the
Quantum Fireballs although I found some positive and negative
reports for other Quantum Fireball models in the archives.

We've decided to order a Seagate Barracuda.

Thanks again
Ian
