For all, who answered, here the answer of Olle Eriksson :
The passwd file isn't used directly, but a hashed binary file. When
changing /etc/passwd you must also run mkpasswd that produced the
hashed file that is used for higher efficiency.
It seems that everybody besides me knows the solution. Sorry for the
simple question.
If there is anybody else who doesn't know here the summary.
There are two solutions :
1. The simplest : use vipw instead of vi
2. The other one, (after you've used vi ):
run mkpasswd (/etc/passwd) to update the user database

Hallo,
once more a simple question:
I want to change the home Directory for one of my users.
I changed the entry in the /etc/passwd but that doesn't have any
effect.
The variable $HOME hasn't changed, I think that's the point.
