Hub as DTE device?

Hi, Managers,

I want to connect an asynchronous serial modem (used in PC, like Hayes
Accura) *directly* to DECrepetaer 90T-16 RJ45 rack, then remote PC can
communicate with my UNIX host through PSTN. Is this a allowed connection.
If so, how to connect the cable?

Any help are appreciated.
