Hi again, folks;
I recently posted here that my AxpPCI33 had started crashing. With
some helpful messages from Dr. Tom Blinn and others, I figured out that my
CPU was probably dead due to some high heat incidents we had last summer.
Since the replacement price for the AxpPCI33 is around $1600,
it made more sense to upgrade it, which I have, with an LX164
motherboard (sold by Aspen systems as a 'Durango II') with a 533 Mhz
processor. I've loaded the Firmware update, and gotten my RRD45
CD-ROM installed. It starts to boot DUnix v3.2c, but fails with the
following error:
bootdevice_parser: unknown protocol name 'SCSI'
SCSI: unknown device
It also has a couple of "not in pci_option data table" errors, but I
have some driver update floppies I haven't installed yet that should take care
of at least one of those.
My question: Is is possible to use my old DUNIX 3.2c on the new box,
or do I have to pay DEC the $1500 it will cost for the new version? Aspen
said it "would probably work" but now I'm wondering...
As always, thanks for any information.
Erik
