Well there's not much to summarize, I had the following line in
'inetd.conf'
> ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/ftpd -l ftpd
>
and it should have been
ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/ftpd ftpd -l
Thank-you to everyone that responded. I still haven't fixed the second
problem. When I have time I will try to build the kernal again and post
the exact error messages and try to get help then. For now, the system
is running fine with the old kernal.
