converting passwd to shadow or C2

Hi,

        With a rash of hackers in the last month, and the ease of access to
Crack,
I need to convert my present passwd file to shadowed. I'm running DU 3.2d
and BSD security. I'm not sure if I start C2 if this will automatically
convert and remove the passwds from the passwd file and insert them in the
shadow files. Or is there a way just to convert the system to shadowed and
not C2.
