Hello Managers,
I've upgraded from 3.2C to 4.0A through 3.g on a dec 3000/500.
I've run xsetup to put xdm instead of cde and rebooted after that.
One of the problem for me is that some options have disappeared from the
kernel as CDFS or PACKETFILTER, but it was a known problem.
The most important problem is for my users. When they log in they have
nothing in the Applications Menu. If they click on Applications they have a
small square. The >xdefaults file is still there but it looks like if it's
not read when the connection is done.
But,.... in fact it's no more a problem. It comes from the fact that the
Worldwide language support was not yet installed. Once the installation is
done, it works again. Good thing to know.
On this subject, it's written in the documentation that you have just to do
a wwinstallupdate . I don't understand how is it possible because it's
impossible to do the update without deleting the subsets before. Has
someone already done it ?
Daniel
