Memory Fragmentation

Hi,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a length of time a system (Alpha - UNIX) should be left up without being powered down before memory fragmentation becomes a problem ?

Experience with any scenario (i.e. small amt of users, large amt of users ..etc)
will be appreciated.

Also is there a tool available to view memory fragmentation on any version of DU.
