Digital Unix Paging Options!

Hi Gurus,

Recently, one of our heavily used software utilities that was
running on our openVMS boxes has quit on us due to some issues that have
not been tracked down yet. We have .COM files that automatically
notifies certain programmers when their code fails during compilation via
alphanumeric paging.
Well, my question and quest is to port the code and install a modem
on the DU V3.2 41 alpha Box that we have and write some code in
conjunction with paging software. I am trying to stay away from
proprietary software, and more so get some ideas on implementing this on
my own. I have heard of some people in the past that have used the Tcl/Tk
( expect ) scripting language to page via UniX Boxes. I would like more
and related information on this if any one could help out.

Thanks in Advance,

Yes!! I will summarize.
