Hi -
I have installed DEC X.500 v3.0 on an Alpha 3000-300LX running UNIX 3.2C.
It responds correctly to requests for information held locally (i.e. /c=GB
/o=Staffordshire University and subordinates); however information held
elsewhere is not correctly retrieved. All communication is via
RFC1006.
For example:
# dxim -c
Copyright Digital Equipment Corporation 1993, 1995. All rights reserved
dxim> show subordinates /c=GB
Continuation references
Target Object: /C=GB
Operation phase: Not started
Reference type: Superior reference
DSA Name: /C=GB
DSA Address: RFC1006+drusillas.directory.ja.net,RFC1006
dxim> <Ctrl/D>
I was able to bind dxim directly to the DSA on drusillas.directory.ja.net,
and the command above then worked correctly.
The administrator of drusillas.directory.ja.net tells me that my DSA binds
apparently correctly as /c=GB/o=Staffordshire University, but then immediately
unbinds again without retrieving any information. (Note: the DSA at
drusillas.directory.ja.net is Nexor XT-Quipu 8.3).
I ran an OSAK trace on the above operation, and found one error reported in
the trace files; from the end of the "init" trace file is this:

Can anyone advise please?
Thanks
