DU 4.0xx stable version?? which one??

Is DU 4.0 a viable OS version to move to from 3.2c? I understand that to go to
4.0a or 4.0b if upgrading, I need to go to 4.0 first. Is 4.0a or 4.0b more
stable by far than 4.0?? What is the appropriate ROM CD Version for 4.0a
support or for 4.0b? Any comments on 4.0b and stability or problems??
