Dear Gurus,
For a group of about 20 power users we are looking for a high
available fileserver (NFS). We think about two Alphas with MemoryChannel,
TruCluster software and a raid array as storage media.
- Do we need the "TruCluster Production Server Software" for simple
fileservices (with failover and loadbalancing) or is the "Available
Server SW" sufficient?
- Are ATM interface cards supported by software and hardware (the SPDs talk
about Ethernet and FDDI interfaces)?
- Is other hardware supported (e.g. AlphaServer 1000) by memory channel and
"TruCluster Production Server Software" (SPDs start with AlphaServer 2000,
that might be oversized for this situation)?
- The most important question: Does anyone of you has experience with
TruCluster and MemoryChannel as fileserver?
TIA
Gerhard
