Has anyone installed BIND version 8 recently?
I just compiled mine and am trying to figure out how to configure it, I am a bit
confused by the docs and I also am reading the O'Reilly book on it, but the stop
at 4.9.5 mostly, version 8 wasn't out at the time of printing, it would seem
there are slight differences between 4.9.5 and the new version 8, the named.boot
is now named.conf, that part I understood, but as far as going forward with the
configuration, I'm hesitant, I'm not sure how to assign an address to the DNS
itself, I think I may also need my own slave/secondary DNS too, I'm not sure yet
if my ISP will let me have theirs as the secondary and if they'll allow zone
transfers, I heard that others have had both master and slave on the same
machine for a while, I'd like to do that too, at least until we get out of the
current situation and get more boxes to handle it... Can anyone help?
