I had installed mtools and was receiving an error that it could not
initialize drive A:. I had checked permissions and set up links to the
appropriate devices. The resolution:
/etc/mtools.conf
drive a: file="/dev/fd0c"
fat_bits=12
tracks=80 heads=2 sectors=18
nodelay
Another suggestion was to check the setup in the users .mtoolsrc file.
I did not try this but would guess it does the same thing as the
mtools.conf file.
