DEC Alpha as backup server

Managers -

I want to use my DEC Alpha 2100 with DU 3.2 as a backup server for
another DEC Alpha 2100 with DU 3.2 and several SUN Sparcs running SUNOS
4.x - Solaris 2.5.1. I know how I'd do it if the tape device was on one
of the Suns but I'm lost when it comes to DU (my head's been stuck in
Solaris too long and DU is foggy). I'm not using any fancy backup
package; just dump. Any suggestions on where to start would be helpful.
 Just need a jump start to get things going again.
