Subject: Q: Dual Pathing HSZ40

Dear Fellow Managers:

I like to hear if any of you have been asking Digital to provide a dual path
from the KZPSA PCI-SCSI adapter to the attached controller.

The HSZ40 and HSZ50 currently support connecting each controller to a
different fast-wide differential SCSI bus, allowing additional capacity
and failover from one bus to the other. Digital UNIX does not currently
support this. It was planned for Spring 96, but was pushed out, and is now
planned for some future release.

We have had KZPSA adapter failures on our production 8400 running SAP. This
has caused a couple of outages, and allot of groans. I'm trying to get an
idea as to whether other people are asking for this, or am I the only one]

In addition, I'm wondering if anyone knows what other UNIX's provide support
for this. I've heard that HP-UX does.

Thanks for any responses, and I will summarize.
