SUMMARY: any body got any idea what space there isn't enough of??

I got lots of answers but the Grand Prize (a NO expense paid trip to the EKS

Who hit the nail on the Head with

You should check the kernel values for the 'proc' subsystem, ie
'sysconfig -q proc' and check the 'per-proc' values. Probably one of
these get exhausted. Also check for temp space free (/tmp and /var/tmp).
You can get a hint on what the file requires by doing a 'size file'

So I upped the obvious params by alot (double)

  max-proc-per-user
  per-proc-stack-size
  max-per-proc-stack-size
  per-proc-data-size
  max-per-proc-data-size
  max-per-proc-address-space
  per-proc-address-space

And all was well with the linker
