remote console dropping connections??

Greeting Folks,
I have managed to successfully setup "remote console"
        via terminal server and PCM.

My connection to the console does NOT seem to last more
than 3 minutes. (i get disconnected from the host). I am
thinking there must be some port setting on the terminal
server that is messing it up or it can be the console itself?
can someone tell me what the "console" settings and the terminal
        server port settings should be?

I know it is not PCM since i get disconnected even on a telnet
        session directly to the port?

        My config:

PCM host talks to terminal server (4 year old) using the
        "TELNET" protocol.

AS8400 console port -> terminal server (Serial)

PCM host -> terminal server (using TELNET protocol)

Here are my current settings fro the AS8400:

        console SERIAL
        console_mode BASIC
tty0_mode VIDEO ( i changed this to HARDCOPY to no
                                        avail)

        Terminal Server port settings:

        parity none
        stop bits 1
        char 8
        transmit 9600
        receive 9600

no default profiles have been set

        Thanks a lot
        Mohan
