Dear All,
Refer to the my last mail asking how to control hostname resolution
order in the system. (Attachment at the end of this mail)
The file that control the hostname resolution order is /etc/svc.conf.
We can change 'host' parameter to control the order. For example
hosts=local,bind,yp
make the system resolve the name by first checking in /etc/hosts file,
DNS and NIS respectively
We can edit the /etc/svc.conf using any editors or Digital UNIX has
svcsetup program to automate this for us.
Thank you very much for all advices I cannot addresses all names here
because of a lot of reply mail I got. However I am appreciated in you
help.
Best Regards,
