My original question was how I could get the equivalent of the C-shell
tilde character to work in a bourne
shell script.
The replies have come in fast and furious (the overwhelming suggestion is
to use the $HOME environment
variable) and are much appreciated, but I don't think I articulated my problem
quite properly. I need this to work FROM A DIFFERENT ACCOUNT. In other
words, I need to be able to:
ls -l ~cknorr
when I'm actually logged in as someone else.
In the C-shell this works perfectly. No such luck in the bourne shell!
Any help is still appreciated!
