A week ago I sent an inquiry concerning remote backup up and Permission denied
errors. Now I discover the error is coming from the system whose files I want
to back up not from the system which has the tape drive.
If I put machine A's, the system with the tape drive, name in the .rhosts
file on machine A and do a rsh machine A ls that works. If I put machine
B's name, the system whose file system I want to backup, in it's .rhosts
file and do a
rsh machine B ls I get a Permission denied error. If I put machine B's name
in machine A's .rhosts file and do a rsh machine B ls on Machine A that works.
If I put machine A's name in machine B's .rhosts file and do a rsh machine
A ls
on machine B I get a Permission deneid error.
Now that you and I are completely confused, any ideas why machine B is
being stubborn?
