In my continued quest to find a removable archive drive, I purchased a
Yamaha CDR-4260
CD-R/CD-RW drive. It somehow manages to panic the DU 4.0D kernel. Has
anyone
managed to get this drive to work at all? The show dev command from the
console shows
the drive correctly, at the right address. I can even boot off the
DU4.0D CD-ROM. Entering
the custom install mode and attempting to modify partitions on the hard
disk (different drive)
halts the kernel rather abruptly. I didn't even get that far when I
plugged the drive into my
4100...it segfaulted on system init and wouldn't even finish booting of
the SWXCR (the CDR was
on the secondary SCSI bus in that machine.)
Help?!?!
