defragcron and defragmenting in general

Regards managers,

I have heard that there is a prerelease for AdvFS Utilities for DEC Unix v
4.0E available from DEC/Compaq. This should "alleviate but not fix" a risk
of getting a "log half full" AdvFS domain crash (which unfortunately we have
experienced) when defragmenting. The prerelease should work on all 4.0x
variants, according to what I've heard.

The "log half full" bug is said to be fixed in 4.0E shipping to customers in
November (?)

Someone willing to comment on this ?
