Hello -
We used Networker 4.2C under Digital Unix 4.0B (Patchkit 7)
to restore a filedomain after a raid array failure
had led to corruption of the ADVFS structure.
Trying to restore more than a single fileset simultaneously
produced warning messages such as
Recovering 108817 files into their original locations
Total estimated disk space needed to recover is 11 GB.
Only 67 MB available for non super users (74 MB free) in '/'.
The estimated recover size of 11GB will not fit on this filesystem.
Proceed with recover command at this time ?
Networker then paced through the recovery list marking each file
as 'not recovered'.
Single filesets were restored correctly to their mountpoints -
no problems due to lack of space on '/'...
But filesets had been saved using multiple sessions at a time,
so that we were forced to reread every backup tape four times to restore
our four filesets.
We are using TK85 tapes (DLT2500XT Jukebox) without any compression,
restoration times were about 1GB/h for a single fileset. The data is
saved at approximately 4 times this rate.
Is this inability to restore multiple filesets simultaneously a
known limitation of Networker Restore ?
Thanks for any info on this
