I am looking at the PCI G-NIC card from PacketEngines. According to my
vendor, I can pop a G-NIC into each of 2 AS8400's, connect them with a
FDDI cable, and get around 850MB throughput over a TCP/IP connection.
>From what I have seen on DEC's website, this is faster and simpler than
using an ATM Gigaswitch (which is my second option).
Does anyone have experience with this card or with the company? It
sounds too good to be true, and I am cautious about any driver that is a
version 1.0.0.
