[SUMMARY]: [ADDENDUM] HELP: network problems???

        Thanks to Sean O'Connell,Martin Moore, Alan Rollow - Dr. Fi,
        Mervyn Weis and Whitney Latta for the quick replies.

        The original problem:
        
        when doing "netstat -i" I would get "no namelist".

        The cause:
        
        1) I booted of the wrong kernel.
        
        2) Or the symbol table was stripped.

        The solution:
        
        1) reboot of the correct kernel.

        
        I might have rebuild the kernel and placed in /vmunix.
        What I would really like to know is can this have an effect
        on the network operations?? ( I would guess not , but any
        theories welcome?)
