We have a system running NFS, LAT, and Decnet with 4.0d that stops mounting
disks for systems NOT on its subnet (both Suns and DECs). This occurs after the
system has been up for a while. The only was to fix it is to reboot, then it
happens again after a period of time. It does not happen with systems on the
same subnet (both Suns and DECs). We have checked using tcpdump, and there are
no packets being dropped. The problem is that the "nfsd" does not responds to
any calls from the remote machine. Other things (like portmap and mountd) do
respond. Mounts the other way work. Mounts using "tcp" work. It is just
"udp". Other systems on the same subnet do not have this problem.
As a side note, I cannot get the automounter to mount using "tcp". When I add
"proto=tcp" to the automount map, it still mounts "udp". The Suns will
automount "tcp" using the same automount map.
Any ideas?
