I've been successfully using an ATL P-1000 jukebox (with two Quantum
DLT-7000
drives) connected to a DEC 3000/400S with the Digital NSR v4.4 software to
do tape backups.
Recently, we had some servicing done to the ATL jukebox which also involved
a firmware upgrade. When I rebooted the system, I found that the NSR
software
was having problems with the jukebox.
When typing nsrjb, it tells me that "No volumes are labeled". I assumed that
I would have to re-initialize the jukebox using nsrjb -H or nsrjb -I.
However,
both commands fail. Here's an example:
rossby# nsrjb -H -v

box_inventory:
nsrjb: Jukebox error, SJI Failure[0x 29]: I/O error
What does the last line mean in this instance?
It's also accompanied by numerous errors in the system error log including:
KZTSA adapter misc error, asr=0x10,
_afar=0x0, afpr=0x1001ac4c000
and a number of serious looking hard errors and bus resets.
Does all of this point to a problem with ATL's updated jukebox firmware or
have I gotten the jukebox into an odd state on my own accord?
Thanks, in advance, for any assistance.
