Hello,
Would you please help me on the following thing or please forward this mail to someone for information.
I am working on the Solaris (version 2.6) on the intel based platform (x86).
I working on the disk mirroring which I want the identical copy of the disk.
Now I have three disks which disk slice is attached by metaattach command and like this three three way mirror has been done. I have already checked it by metastat command (ok).
Now my question can I physically take off one disk from them and with this can I try the other machine to system fire up. Does the system would boot up and everything should be the same with the existing first machine (from where i took the disk) ?
Actually I want the second machine which would be the identical copy of the first machine (everything a-z). So I want to take off one mirror (from the first machine) disk for the second one.Would it work fine(in second machine) or do any hamper the first one ?
Please let me know some ideas on that. I appreciate your help and I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks a lot.
