shortcuts in hosts.lpd

I was wondering briefly if there are any shortcut methods of defining
which hosts are allowed to print to your lpd queues, using
/etc/hosts.lpd?

According to the man pages (as far as they go), it takes the same format
as hosts.equiv, which doesn't allow what I was hoping for - which is to
permit printing from any hosts on a set of several subnets. By analogy,
one can set this up on VMS under Multinet, using the "accept nets"
feature... is there any way I might be able to do this other than
listing every host in /etc/lpd.hosts (which, I suppose, isn't such a
chore anyway, as I could just dump the names out from the DNS...)?
