Hi osf managers,

I have a problems trying to setting up a modem for dial in connections on
my AS41000 with DU 4.0D. I followed all the steps described in the
network administration documentation but I get a "Lost carrier" message
from the modem. I have a Hayes compatible modem of 28800 bps, for which
speed tip(1) return that 28800 is a bad baud rate in spite I had to add
that speed to /etc/uugettydefs file previously, so I have used 19200 in
all the involved files configuration. The steps I have followed are:

1.- Connect the modem to the machine and to the telephone line
2.- Create an account with username ppp and shell /usr/sbin/pppd
3.- edit /etc/remote to add the following line:

     b19200:dv=/dev/tty00:br#19200:pa=none:

4.- edit /etc/inittab to add the following line:

     modem:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty /dev/tty00 M19200 vt100

Before I try to connect my with "tip b19200", I got a "connected" message
but I press any key I get a "Lost carrier. [EOT]" message error. What is
wrong?
Any hints will be very appreciated,

Thanks in advance
