Maybe this information is in the web site somewhere, but I'd like to
find out from anyone who might have done this before. This is an
expansion on the previous question about sharing a SCSI bus using TC.
What is the limit on the number of hosts that can share a SCSI bus?
I think DUNIX still does not support 16 bit addressing on a wide SCSI,
so does this mean that the maximum number of nodes on the bus is 8?
I seem to recall that the host adaptor on a wide bus may be set to a
target ID greater than 7, so that you can assign IDs 0-7 to non-host
devices such as disk drives, tape drives, juke boxes, scanners...
Can one possibly push this using a True Cluster to put up to 8 hosts on
a wide bus, setting their host adaptor targets to 8-15, and allow them
to access up to 8 storage devices on the bus? Can this really would be
True Cluster like the VAXCluster days?
Thanks for any information on this.
