4.0B, Oracle, and Y2K

     The question is simple:

I've got 4.0B on an AS4100 running Oracle 7.3.4 The machine and
database run like a champ. I really don't want to upset the applecart
with a OS upgrade. BTW, I've got ADVFS and LSM and Pathworks. (The
pathworks I'm not too worried about only my 7 developers use it).

However, my senior managers are bringing in Ernest and Young Y2K
trouble makers into my company. I want to have a plan and ammunition
for the 4.0B versus 4.0D upgrade.

     Is this upgrade REALLY necessary?

We don't use the box for anything other than Oracle, the Oracle is Y2K
ready. I would hate to go thru the expense and grief just to get a
bunch of Y2K compliant utilities that I don't use.

Thanks in advance and I will summarize back to this list.
