cd to file systems on other systems

After installing DU4.0D system and fixing problemsm, now we want to do
things like this:

cd /net/rtp3/bzhang

It doesnt work. We did evrything we can do like:

create a /etc/auto.net file, add entries to /etc/hosts
export file system to this system from other systems
...

What did we miss?
