Hi,
I have set up a RIS server on 4.0B 4100, put in it DU4.0D and am
trying to get a remote install going. Everything works fine
until the unix packages start to be pax'd. It fails on the first
one with numerous pax errors
e.g
pax: /usr/sbin/wall: permission denied.
When the install bombs and I check what is mounted I see
<risservername>:/ris/ris2.a/product_1 on / type nfs (v3, rw, nogrpid, udp, hard, intr)
I assummed this was something to do with export settings on the ris
server so I have played around with /etc/exports but am getting nowhere
fast.
currently I have in /etc/exports
/export/pkg0 -root=0 -ro -access=all-hosts
/ris/ris2.a/product_1 -root=0 -ro -access=all-hosts
/export/pkg0/ris/ris2.alpha/kit -root=0 -ro -access=all-hosts
all-hosts is a netgroup which contains the host I am installing onto.
the ris directorys are all links to /export/pkg0
/ris/ris2.a -> /export/pkg0/ris/ris2.alpha
/export/pkg0/ris/ris2.alpha/kit -> /export/pkg0/ris/ris2.alpha/product_1
Has anybody hit this problem, can anybody point me
to a solution ?
Cheers.
Pete
