 I forgot to mention that I'm running DU4.0B . I woud like to add some
further explanations.
Our AS4100 was currently installed into a ASE cluster with an AS8400. Last
sunday it went
down according to the ase logs. After a boot into the console it stated that
the server went down due to overheating. I could boot into multiuser too.
I've red the manpages about the envmond and envconf but didn't find any
clues about logs. We logged a call with digital/comaq. They state that when
the CPU 0 fan fails the machine woudn't even boot. So I decided to let the
computer work and watch for the temperature if it's safe to let it run.
That's all.

This one worked on my 4.0B :
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------
Example:

% sysconfig -q envmon env_current_temp
envmon:
env_current_temp = 23

This is from a 4.0d 4100 system. Not sure if it's supported on earlier
versions.
