Hello all,

an interesting problem: running nfssetup under 4.0D we selected 64 TCP
daemons and 64 UDP daemons. Finished off the exports and then tried
mounting from a DECstation (Ultrix) and a Linux box and the mounts
hang. Linux complaining about being unable to read the root inode:

Sep 25 14:28:44 zenith kernel: nfs_fhget: getattr error = 5
Sep 25 14:28:44 zenith kernel: nfs_read_super: get root inode failed

the DECstation kindly replied "RPC program not registered".

We tried playing around with nfssetup and discovered:

TCP daemons UDP daemons result
8 (default) 64 OK, mounts work
64 64 fails to mount
8 120 fails to mount

we are now very confused but happily running with 8,64...

Anyone care to shed any light?

Thanks,

Arrigo
